Saturdays - day for rest

We'll, we'd better get going, right?

Weekends, especially at summer, I don't see much of my partner. He's addicted. His drug of choice - golf. I can hear you now. "He's into rock and metal. Golf is NOT rock'n'roll!" I can tell you've not read this piece...
I don't golf. I used to, but I had to visit a naprapath after every game, so I had to stop. My weekends are reserved for resting. The less I have to do on my weekends, the better. Working as your own in music business means working almost 24/7. Weekends are my free time. I rest. I lay on my sofa, totally shameless about not lifting a finger. The ultimate form of recreation.
16-year old daughter on summer leave from school, is barely leaving her room. Besides her love for music, she has a somewhat unhealthy fling with her computer. She's a screen girl, she has some social issues and doesn't fancy people much. But boy does she love music!

This is five recommended tracks by the teenager right now:

The Male Dinousaur prefers to listen to the following right now:
  • Heilung, that just released an album called Futha

Finally, me - The Female Dinousaur - don't live a day without these:
  • Blanco Brown - The Git Up - much because of the video and the fly dancing!
  • Love Fame Tragedy - My Cheating Heart  and yes, the video is awesome, of course.
  • Awkwrd - Deja Vu - Swedish female producer/artist trio. Debut-single out yesterday, that I happened to stumble across. Love it!

Music - a big part of our family

Music is such a big part of our family. It's there, constantly.

We're a family of three, consisting of me, my husband and our teenage daughter (16). Both me and my partner work in the music industry. My husband runs a label/music distribution company/record store, mainly working with rock and metal.
I run my own PR agency, I have a little record label and I co-manage a young male Swedish artist on the rise, who is right now about to sign a major record deal. I'm also about to form a new company together with three awesome women in the same industry. You'll probably hear more about that in time.
And the teenager has - not surprisingly - developed a massive interest for music; she's curious and quite picky and I've more and more discovered that what she likes, I get to listen to a lot... Most of the time I really dig her taste in music, and she's also picked up some of my favorites, like Bowie and the soundtrack to the Hair movie.

And oh, yes. I almost forgot. There's also a cat. He's called Sauron. Not into music quite as much, though.

Tuesday Thrill

Love to be back in business again! I'm full of energy and lust for work. This will hopefully be an exciting period work wise and I'...
